Felix Eugene Bearden, age 89, most recently of Cumming, GA, passed away Wednesday afternoon, July 9, 2025, at Friendship Health & Rehab, in Cleveland, GA.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 25, at 3:00pm in the Braselton Room of Braselton Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2:30pm until the service time.
He was born January 30, 1936, in Birmingham, AL, to the late Oscar Loron and Ethel Mae Bearden.
Mr. Bearden is survived by daughters, Angela Markwalter, & Kelly Caldwell; sons-in-law, Gary Markwalter & Dale Caldwell; granddaughters, Caitlyn Sadler & Daniela Trujillo; grandsons-in-law, Ian Sadler & Gabriell Trujillo; nieces, Bunny Machen, Maryann Pergason, Kathy Stowers, Jessalyn Bethell, Amanda Hay; & nephew, Tom Driggers. Felix was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Davis Bearden; parents; brothers, Robert & Perry Bearden; and sisters, Ethelyn & Faye.
A proud descendant of the pioneers who settled AL, Felix was the descended from many who fought for American Independence during the Revolutionary War; a fact which partly explains his deep and abiding patriotism. After graduating from Phillips High School, B'ham, AL, in 1954, he served in the Air Force. Afterwards, Felix worked several years as a tech rep before he made a leap of faith into the brave new world of computers at Philco in 1959. He received an absurd number of certifications and wound up with 50 years experience in software development, including computer design, but emphasizing mechanical control systems. His employers included RCA, Philco, Scientific Data Systems, System Engineering Laboratories, Modcomp, and Stephen Makk and Associates, before he incorporated and opened his own consulting firm, FBAI.
He spent his whole life loving music and sharing that gift with everyone around him. He was a tenor soloist for many churches over the years and was proud of his service as a choir director for several churches, including El Divino Salvador in San Antonio, TX and Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Hollywood, FL.
His dry sense of humor made everyone around him feel at ease. His passing has left a massive void in the souls of his family and friends. We kindly ask that he not be remembered for the end of his life, but for the way he lived.
