Mrs. Melba Doss Lewis, age 89 entered into Eternal Rest on July 15, 2025 at Pruitt Health in Moultrie, GA. She was born in Maysville, GA to the late, George M, and India Samples Doss. Mrs. Lewis was a homemaker and caregiver after many years of public work at Baker and Taylor. She was a life long member of Oconee Baptist Church.
In additions to her parents, Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by her husband, C.W. Jack Lewis, a grandson Mark Mealor of Commerce, great grandson baby Sharpe Lewis of Commerce, one sister, Mary Lou Napier of Mt. Home, Arkansas; three brothers, George Thomas Doss and Jimmy Doss of Maysville, and Ford Doss of Clarkesville.
Mrs. Lewis is survived by her daughter, Deborah Johnson of Moultrie; sons, David Lewis of Maysville and Dean Lewis (Jodi) of Commerce; 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Services will be held at Little-Ward Funeral Home chapel on Friday, July 18th at 2:00PM with Rev. Ken Barrett and Mr. Wes Lewis officiating. Internment will follow at Oconee Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 11:00 to 2:00 at the funeral home.
