Silvan "Von" Monroe Clayton

Silvan “Von” Monroe Clayton, age 87, of Buford, GA, (formerly Greeneville, TN), passed away peacefully at home on July 12, 2025, with his family by his side.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Louise Clayton; parents, Silvan Monroe Clayton, Sr. and Irma Ward Clayton.  Mr. Clayton is survived by his children, Robert Clayton of Mohawk, TN, David Clayton of Mill Creek, WA, Jennifer (Dwayne) Hatcher of Buford, GA, with whom he lived; grandchildren, Ryan (Lhea) Hatcher, Rachel (Brandon) Freeman, Stephanie Clayton (James Champe), Rebecca (Brady) Shoppe, Evan Hatcher; great-grandchildren, Adley Hatcher, Callie Shoppe, Logan Champe, and Clayton Freeman (due in January).

Mr. Clayton was Born May 11, 1938 in Baltimore Maryland.  He was the only child to Silvan and Irma Clayton.  He was a graduate of Catonsville High School in Maryland.  Mr. Clayton, known as “Von” to his clients, was the Owner of Clayton Painting and Wallpaper for over 40 years.  He was a former member of First Presbyterian Church in Greeneville, TN.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Greeneville, TN, with Pastor Todd Jenkins officiating.
