Edward Dunlap McKinney, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and devoted servant of the Lord, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2025 at the age of 85.
Born on October 10, 1939, Ed lived a lived a life defined by strength, faith, and unwavering dedication to his family and to God. He was the loving and faithful husband of Betty Rabun McKinney for 63 years, with whom he built a life centered on love, partnership, and mutual devotion. Together they raised three children: Krista McKinney Anderson, Lisa McKinney McCrimmon, and David McKinney, instilling in them the same values of integrity, hard work, and compassion that Ed carried throughout his life.
A proud grandfather, Ed loved and welcomed Brian, Michael, Rebecca, Daniel, Alisha, Payden, Chance, and Drew. His legacy extends even further through his great-grandchildren: Kaylee, Marcus, Benjamin, Declan, Delaney, and Juniper.
Ed was a true entrepreneur, a man of remarkable work ethic, discipline, and vision. He was known for his sharp mind, tireless energy, and remarkable organization skills – always building, always planning, always giving his best. But more than his accomplishments, Ed will be remembered for the steadfast love he gave to his family and the deep well of strength he drew from his faith.
A strong man of faith, Ed served the Lord with his whole heart. His life was a testament to the power of quiet, consistent devotion. He led by example, prayed with sincerity, and trusted God’s plan in all things.
Those who knew Ed knew him as a pillar of strength – a man who stood tall in both his convictions and compassion. He lived with purpose, led with love, and leaves behind a legacy of faithfulness, generosity, and integrity.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. May he rest in peace in the arms of Jesus.
