Gregory Lynn Elder

Gregory Lynn Elder, 71, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away peacefully during his sleep at home on July 9th, 2025.

What people remember most isn't what someone said, but how they made you feel. If you ever stepped through Greg Elder's door, you felt it instantly-loved, seen, heard and cared for. He welcomed everyone like an old friend.

Greg had a remarkable gift for making people feel at home. He didn't care much for traveling the world because his heart belonged to Elder Ridge. That was home. He'd wrap you in a hug, give you a hearty pat on the back and love you in whatever way needed: he'd laugh with you, cry with you, dance with you, get mad, reminisce-or maybe just sit in silence.

Through it all, Greg never lost his appreciation for life or for beauty. He found it in music, in people, in conversation and in the peace of being surrounded by nature and family.

Greg Elder was one of a kind, and our world is forever a better place because he was in it.

Greg is survived by his children Nicole (Jon McLean), Brandon Elder and Kelli Boston (Cody King) and his former spouse Anita Elder. His grandchilden Harper, Sawyer and Tanner Boston, along with siblings Pam ( Marlon Huffmaster) and Deborah (Bob Dubreuiel).

He is preceded in death by his parents Patricia & Glenn Elder and sister Rhonda Elder.

A celebration of Greg's life will be held at The Mill Grill 2718 S Chestatee, Dahlonega, GA 30533 on July 26, 2025 at 3:30. Friends and family are invited to gather and share stories, music and memories in honor of a man who touched the lives of so many.
