Alice Looney Jackson

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson, Georgia, announces the death of Mrs. Alice Looney Jackson, age 86, of Jefferson, Georgia, who passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2025. Mrs. Jackson was born in Watkinsville, Georgia, a daughter to the late Robert and Emma Looney. Mrs. Jackson was a bus driver with the Jackson County School System, retiring with over thirty-two years of service. She was a faithful care giver to both her husband and her son until their deaths. Mrs. Jackson was a supportive mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was the epitome of a hardworking and independent woman who could do anything she set her mind to. She was blessed to travel and visit on many trips to Alaska, Nova Scotia, the Bahamas and many other exciting places with her best friend, Carolyn Wilkes Evans. Mrs. Jackson was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church in Jefferson.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Clyde Jackson, son, DeWayne Clyde Jackson, sister, Helen Anderson and brother, Roy Looney.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law who diligently and lovingly cared for her, Bobby and Elaine Standridge of Jefferson; granddaughters, Amber (Dustin) Marlowe of Jefferson, GA, Andrea Haynes of Columbus, OH, Jessica (Jay) Weinstein of Marietta, GA and Breanna (Cody) Stephens of Commerce, GA; sister, Peggy Hix of Jefferson, GA and brother, Dan Looney and his wife Ruth of Jefferson, GA; great-grandchildren, Paisley Owens, Reagan Brown, Andrew Weinstein, Ruby Marlowe, Magnolia Marlowe and Callum Stephens also survives.

The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 14, 2025 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Reverend Johnny Ray officiating. The burial will follow in the Bethany Methodist Church Cemetery.

The visitation will be held on Monday, July 14, 2025 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM in the Evans Funeral Home, prior to the service.
