Carol Tyner Aiken passed away peacefully on the morning of Thursday, July 10, 2025 with her daughters by her side. She was born March 13, 1942 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late Clemmie and Inez Buffington Tyner.
Carol was a 1960 graduate of East Hall High School and was employed at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center where she retired in 1997 after 30 years of service. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life-gardening and spending many hours working in her yard, decorating her home and attending Lebanon Methodist Campmeeting each summer since childhood. As described by her to so many, her greatest blessing in life were her three children. She found the most joy in spending time with her family and special friends.
She is preceded in death by her precious son, Mitch Aiken, who recently passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2025. She is also preceded in death by longtime companion, Harold Buffington.
Carol is survived by her loving daughters, Karen (Mitchell) Rylee and Vickie (Andy) Dowdy, and daughter-in-law Cree Aiken, grandchildren Brandi Hewell, Austin Saxon, Kasey (Jenny) Rylee, Kody (Alexis) Rylee, Brent Aiken, Sydney (Zach) Segars, and Sawyer (Brittany) Wilson, great-grandchildren Kayden Hewell, Kylen Hewell, Kynsleigh Hewell, Kolston Hewell, Ava Saxon, Truett Saxon, Sarah Lewis Saxon, Waylon Rylee, Wyatt Rylee, Westyn Rylee, River Segars, Jack Segars, Camp Segars, Redding Wilson, Colter Wilson, and Aimes Wilson. She is also survived by her brother, Malcom Tyner and nephews Rhett (Amy) Tyner and Nick (Beth) Tyner.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 13, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Little & Davenport Funeral Home on Dawsonville Highway. Rev. Bill Carr and Rev. Kody Rylee will officiate. Interment will be held at Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 5-8 p.m.
