Dorothy Geneva Cain Tatum, 81, of Dawsonville passed away July 10, 2025 at her residence following an extended period of declining health.
Born June 18, 1944 to the late Hoke and Bessie (Reece) Cain, she was a lifelong resident of Dawson County and member of New Hope Baptist Church. Dorothy had many pets throughout her life that she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Max Cain and son in law, Chris Kimble.
Dorothy is survived by her former husband, J.D. Tatum; daughters, Stacy Taylor (Cliff), Dawn Kimble; grandchildren, Brittany Kimble, CJ Taylor; great grandchildren, Logan Taylor, James Taylor; sister, Doris Miller; several other family members.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 14, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Dawsonville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, July 13 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.
