Michael Gleason of Flowery Branch passed away suddenly July 8, 2025. He was a devoted son, brother, husband, stepfather, “Pop Pop” (grandfather), and friend.
Born on July 15, 1966, Michael grew up in Tucker, Georgia. As a young man, he graduated from Georgia Tech University, after which he joined Northeast Georgia Health System, where he retired after over 30 years of service. Afterward, he continued to work in the healthcare arena in other roles. During his time at Northeast Georgia, Michael met and married his wife Elaine, with whom he recently celebrated 20 years of marriage. At the same time, he courageously accepted the role of stepfather to two boys. Recently, Michael took on the role of “Pop Pop” and captivated his granddaughter’s heart with his warm smiles and silly faces.
Michael was a faithful Christian and a person of unswerving integrity. He was a member of New Bridge Baptist Church, where he served as treasurer, as well as other roles, for many years. Michael worked hard and lived a life of quiet, consistent faithfulness. Though he preferred to stay out of the spotlight, he made a tremendous impact on the people in his circle. He gave of his time and his life generously, often sacrificing his own interest for the wellbeing of others. Those who knew him recognized him for his constancy, devotion, kindness, and generosity.
Michael is survived by his wife Elaine, stepsons Adam and Blake (Lauren), granddaughter Shepherd, Father Lewis, and sister Suzanne.
A memorial service will be held in Michael’s honor on Saturday, July 12, at 2:00 p.m. at Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Rev. Milton Harris will officiate. The family will receive friends at the same location at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place at New Bridge Baptist Church Cemetery after the service.
