Dennis Gerald Wydra

Obituary Date: Saturday, June 28, 2025

Mr. Dennis Gerald Wydra, age 83, of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2025.  Mr. Wydra was born in Chicago, IL on March 15, 1942, to the late Walter Wydra and Lottie Malinowski Wydra.  Dennis served his country with honor in the US Army, following his military service he would go on to have a long and distinguished career in fire service.  He worked for several different departments during his career, having a variety of different jobs. After retirement, Dennis was also an Adjunct Instructor for 7 years at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents as well as his brother Robert Wydra.  He is survived by his wife Alice Wydra, son, Steve Wydra; daughters and sons-in-law; Kim and Richard Gaines, and Heather and Chris Ferguson; brother, James Wydra; brother and sister in law, Jack and Peggy Wydra; brother in law and sister in law, Fred and Janet Janowski; grandchildren, Chad and Sara Razey, Ashlynn and Tyler Carver, Morgan and Levi Mote, Niki and Brad Bass, Mason and Krysta Gaines, Lottie Wydra; great-grandchildren, Hayden, Zeke, and Ember Razey, Susannah Carver, Elizabeth Mote.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, June 30, 2025, from 6 until 8 PM.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 1 PM at Episcopal Church of the Resurrection with Fr. Dean Taylor officiating. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection Outreach Committee or the White County Food Pantry.
