Joseph B. Stevens, 80 of Gainesville passed away Saturday June 28, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
A lifelong resident of Hall County, Mr. Stevens was the son of the late Charlie B. and Allene Whitmire Stevens. Mr. Stevens served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was self-employed as a dump truck driver and was a graduate of North Hall High School. Mr. Stevens was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, J. Britt Stevens (Lori Miller Stevens), son, Joel B. Stevens (Misty), daughter and son-in-law, Shanna S. Martin (Spencer A. Martin), grandchildren, Jordan Barnes (Tyler), Leandra Cape (Andrew), Breland Hansford (J.F.), Cody Martin (Kayla), Joely Stevens, Dawson Martin (Katelyn), great grandchildren, Whit Cape, Ted Hansford, Waylon Barnes, Henry Hansford, LoriAnn Cape, John Martin, brother and sister-in-law, Wesley and Beverly Stevens, sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Doug Adams.
Mr. Stevens is preceded in death by his parents and wife of 49 years, Martha L. Stevens.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday July 1, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Baker and Brad Martin will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday June 30 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. until the funeral hour.
