Mrs. Irene Alderman Rivenbark, age 96, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and individual known for her strong, loving, caring and nurturing personality, went home to Jesus on June 26, 2025.
Born February 23, 1929, the daughter of the late Daniel Grey and Maude Stilley Alderman of Rose Hill, Duplin County, NC, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Edset Bryant Rivenbark, Sr. in 1994; her sisters, Pansy Alderman Elliott, Frances Alderman Quinn, and Douglas Elliott Sr., I.J. Quinn Sr.; son, Edsel “Eddie” Bryant Rivenbark, Jr.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra “Sandy” and David R. Rackley Jr.; grandson, Charles “Chad” D. Rackley (Ashley); and great-grandchildren, Parker and Maci. Her departure leaves an unfillable void in their lives, yet they find comfort in the memories and everlasting love they shared.
Irene worked many jobs in her lifetime, one being a nurse as an assistant for several years. Working in the furniture business as well as in the commissary at Stevcoknit. She volunteered at the Blessings in Store Ministry, which gave her pleasure.
Irene enjoyed cooking and serving delicious meals for her family. She was talented in many crafts, such as drawing, painting, and knitting. She treasured her bridge club friends that continued the trend for over 50 years.
Visitation will be held Sunday, June 29, 2025, from 2:00 until 4:00 PM, at Memorial Park Funeral Home, on Memorial Park Road, Gainesville, Georgia 30504, on Sunday, June 29, 2025. 
Funeral service is planned for the following week, Sunday, July 6, 2025, in Wallace, NC, at Padgett Funeral Home, 401 West Main St., Wallace NC 28466, with graveside at Brice’s Cemetery, Hwy 41, Wallace NC, 28466. Further arrangements will be forthcoming.
