Mr. Thomas Allen Collins, age 81 entered his heavenly home on Monday, June 23, 2025 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
He was born on December 25, 1943 in Stephens County, Georgia to the late Granville Garvin (GG) Collins and Merle Kate Power Collins where he lived his entire life.
Thomas was a member of New Hope Baptist Church since 1955 where he taught Sunday School and served as a deacon for many years. He loved the Lord and loved his family. He was a gentle, kind man and always willing to lend a helping hand. He retired from Coats and Clark in 2006 with 42 years of service. He enjoyed his retirement days sitting on his porch, riding his tractor, cutting his grass, taking Joyce on car rides and playing with his great grandchildren.
He is survived by the love of his life, Joyce Addison Collins, of whom he was married just shy of 63 years; a son, Roger Allen Collins; a daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Tim Culpepper; two grandchildren and their spouses, Carli Culpepper Jay (Marc) and Collin Culpepper (Kristen); three great-grandchildren who brought him so much joy, Oakley and Oliver Culpepper and Addie Brownlee; a brother, Alfred Collins and a sister, Vera Robinson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by three brothers, Rev. Paul Collins, Arnold Collins and Marvin Collins.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Friday, June 27, 2025 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.
Funeral services will be held at New Hope Baptist Church on Saturday, June 28, 2025, 11 a.m. with The Reverend David Sosebee officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Collin Culpepper, Marc Jay, Barry Collins, Brian Collins, Bradley Collins and David Bailey.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Hope Baptist Church, Facilities/Premises Expansion Fund, 6731 Mize Road, Toccoa, Georgia 30577 in memory of Mr. Thomas Allen Collins.
Interment will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Thomas Allen Collins.
