Jerry Donald William “Nat” Simmons

Mr. Jerry Donald William “Nat” Simmons, age 72 of Lawhouse Road, Toccoa passed away Monday, June 23, 2025 at the home of his son.

A son of the late Charles Donald Simmons and Mary Sue Pitts Simmons, he was born August 8, 1952 in Stephens County, Georgia where he lived all his life. He was retired from Duke Power with 30 years of service. He attended Sunshine Methodist Church. He was a member of Toccoa Elks Lodge and was chairman of the maintenance committee for the lodge. He was Elk of the year for 2022-2023. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather and loved his family dearly. He would do anything for them or anyone else that needed something.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his wife, Nancy Ruth Langford Simmons.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Stacey and Missy Simmons of Toccoa; daughter, Kelley Vaughn of Toccoa; grandchildren, Savannah Simmons, Natalie Simmons, Lauren Simmons and Nick Vaughn; great-grandchild, Reed Simmons; sisters and brothers-in-law, Susan and Bobby Hanley and Teresa and Bill Pritchett both of Toccoa; sisters-in-law, Nina (Bruce) Burdette of Toccoa, Barbara (Robert) Moseley of Martin and Martha Sheriff and her daughter, Alana Sheriff of Martin; a number of other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday, June 27, 2025, 2 o'clock PM at Sunshine Methodist Church with The Reverend William Hyndman and The Reverend Jerrell Beatty officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers and should assemble at the funeral home by 1 pm, Marshall Jordan, Kenny Long, Dennis Whiten, Brent Stovall, Gary Watkins, Ray Embry, Doug Defoor and Jeff “Peanut” Fogle.

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Thursday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Toccoa Elks Lodge, Veterans Fund, P.O. Box 282, Toccoa, Georgia 30577 in memory of Mr. Jerry “Nat” Simmons.

Interment will follow in the Sunshine Methodist Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Jerry “Nat” Simmons.
