Rebecca Lynn Boone

Free spirit Rebecca Lynn Boone passed peacefully in her sleep early June 16, 2025, at the age of 53. As you read this, she is likely roaming her favorite trails and national parks with her now pain-free knees.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Sell’s Mill Park Pavilion, 8783 Jackson Trail Road Hoschton, GA 30558.

With a background in journalism, geology, and education, Rebecca has done a little bit of everything. From textbook proofreading to teaching, she always had an enchanting way with words. Writing her obituary is a challenge simply because she could have written it better.

Rebecca was loved by friends she worked with in the National Park Service, beloved by the students she inspired in the classroom, and admired by the many felines she fed and loved over the decades.

She is preceded in death by her legendary father, James Boone. She is survived by mother Linda Boone; spouse Todd Campbell; lifelong friend and father of her children Charley Martin; children Caitlyn (Clay), Chance (Kelsey), Maisy, and Harry; grandsons, Aiden and James; countless students; and friends all over the nation.
