Mr. Vandiver was born in Helen to the late Clifford and Gladys Tatum Vandiver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Douglas Vandiver, and sisters, Miriam Head, Dot Wood and Gwen Allen. Mr. Vandiver worked for General Motors and was a member and deacon at Center Baptist Church in Helen.
Survivors include wife, Carole Vandiver, Helen; sons, Brian S. Vandiver (Rhonda), Carrollton and Brad Vandiver (Jennifer), Hayesville, NC; daughter, Alison Evans (Jim Johnson), Gainesville; grandchildren, William Alexander Evans (Kayla), Athens, Andrew Scott Vandiver, Atlanta, Valera Vandiver, Boise, ID, Anna Beth Evans, Gainesville, Courtney Vandiver, Duluth, Roman Vandiver, Atlanta, Clayton Vandiver, Hayesville, NC; great-grandson, Charles Alexander Evans, Athens; brothers, Harold C. Vandiver (Deborah), Elberton, and Eric Vandiver (Jane), Helen; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 P.M. Wednesday, June 25, 2025, from The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. Rev. Michael Wilkes will officiate. Interment will follow in Center Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 P.M. Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at the funeral home.
