He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Watson, father Lee “Doc” Watson and his first wife, Kathy Watson Connell.
Randy attended Madison County High School. He and his father owned Watson Tractor Company. He will be remembered by his passion for horses, that his father introduced him to at a very young age, and he instilled into his own children. He was the true rendition of an “ole cowboy”. He was a very strong willed and independent person, his entire life. As his health declined, he still insisted on living alone. When the time came that he needed full time care, his oldest daughter, Melinda became his caregiver. Without hesitation, she and Tim moved him into their home and cared for him until his last breath. Randy will always be remembered as one of the tough ones, cowboys are a breed, tougher than nails and stronger than steel. ”We rise, never worry about fall, I guess that’s just the cowboy in us all”
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
