Margaret Ann Anderson of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away on June 14th 2025 at Chelsey Park Nursing Home in Dahlonega, Georgia. A service will be held in celebration of her life and all her accomplishments on Friday, June 20th at 1 pm in Gainesville, Georgia at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. The viewing for friends and family will be at noon on Friday, June 20th at Memorial Park.

Margaret was born on September 19, 1943 in Atlanta, Georgia. In school, she was a picture-perfect student and friend to all. During her junior year of high school, she met the love of her life, Marshall. After they graduated, they married and took jobs in the surrounding areas of Atlanta. One of her favorite early career memories involved her working at the famous Peach Building which towers over the city. She and her friends would eat lunches and take breaks while overlooking the skyline. Some other major career moments involved her working for Waffle House Corporate, helping to jump start the major corporation. She took most pride in her time working in her daughter's high school counseling office, building relationships with students and helping shape their lives for the better.

Margaret devoted her entire life to her family, embodying the role of a loving wife and mother with grace and unwavering dedication. Together with her husband, Marshall, she raised three children—Leigh, Brent, and Ashley. She spent her days nurturing them with boundless love and support. Margaret was deeply involved in every aspect of their lives, from education and sports to extracurricular activities, always offering encouragement and care.

Her home was a reflection of her warmth and attention to detail, beautifully kept and welcoming, with every meal thoughtfully prepared and served on her cherished china. She created a space where her children could thrive, explore their passions, and grow into their fullest selves, always with her by their side, learning and growing with them. Margaret’s legacy is one of selfless love, elegance, and a life wholly devoted to her family.

In her later years, Margaret found immense joy in spending time with her ever-growing family. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to McKensie, Talbott, Marshall, Mateo, and Julian, each of whom brought her endless pride and happiness. Her greatest accomplishments, as she often said, were her children and grandchildren, and she cherished watching them grow and succeed.

Margaret treasured every opportunity to gather with her loved ones—whether for shopping trips, shared meals, or celebrations of any kind. She embraced life with a festive spirit, thoughtfully decorating her home to reflect the changing seasons and creating a warm, inviting atmosphere year-round. Some of her favorite memories were spent celebrating birthdays, cheering on UGA football, and coming together for Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day—moments that reflected her love for tradition, family, and joyful living.

Many of Margaret’s favorite things will continue to reflect her joy and keep her memory alive. A devoted Christian woman, Margaret lived her life guided by faith, grace, and compassion. She carried herself with a quiet strength and dignity, earning her place as the beloved matriarch.

She found deep happiness in the beauty of nature, especially in gardens filled with her favorite flowers: hydrangeas, magnolias, and azaleas. She had a special fondness for hummingbirds, drawn to their gentle presence and the sense of peace they brought—symbols of the serenity she often found in her faith and the world around her.

Her family and friends will continue to feel her presence in the elegance of blooming flowers, the flutter of wings in a quiet garden, and in all the beautiful moments that mirror the life she so lovingly and faithfully lived.

Margaret is survived by her children Leigh Anderson of Gainesville, Brent Anderson of Canton, and Ashley Anderson of Villa Rica; her grandchildren McKensie Whitton of Sugar Hill, Talbott and Marshall Anderson of Canton, and Mateo and Julian Anderson of Villa Rica; great-grand child Truett Whitton; her sisters, cousins, nieces and nephews.
