Mr. Jerry Lamar Kelley, age 77 of Oak Way, Toccoa passed away Monday, June 16, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his family after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.
A son of the late Maxie Haney Kelley and Ruby Estelle Barbre Kelley, he was born March 21, 1948 in Greenville, South Carolina, having lived the greater part of his life in Toccoa. He was a summa cum laude graduate of Limestone College, which he completed while working at Michelin Tires in Greenville, South Carolina where he retired after 27 years of service. He loved working in his garden and donating items and money to the Toccoa-Stephens County Animal Shelter. He was daddy to his loving pets but he was Poppy to his daughter’s pets. He was a loving husband to his wife Teresa, a loving father to his daughter Jennifer and loving grandfather to his grandchildren, Rachel and Ryan and loved spending time with them. He loved to make them laugh at his dad jokes. He was an avid Clemson fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Betty Howard Mize and a brother-iin-law, Buren Crunkleton.
Survivors include his wife of the home, Teresa Mize Kelley; daughter, Jennifer McCollum (Ken Wheeler) of Toccoa; grandchildren, Rachel McCollum and Ryan McCollum of Toccoa; brothers and sisters-in-law, Keith and Becky Kelley and Danny and Debbie Kelley of Piedmont, South Carolina; father-in-law, Arvil Mize of Toccoa; aunt, Lucille Barbre of Piedmont, South Carolina; sisters-in-law, Pat Crunkleton (Claude Weaver) and Cookie Sheppard both of Toccoa; brother-in-law, Dwain Mize (Gail) of Toccoa; additional family members, Roger Sheppard and Jason McCollum of Toccoa and Wanda Dunagan of Banks County; a number of loving nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 19, 2025, 11 a.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Jerrell Beatty officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Ryan McCollum, Roger Sheppard, Neal Sheppard, Brady Sheppard and Sam Cash.

Interment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements.
