Reverend Euel Odell Gilstrap

Rev. Euel Odell Gilstrap, age 92, of Gainesville passed away on Friday June13, 2025 at his residence .

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday June 18, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Matthew Pritchett, Rev. J. D. Sosebee, Rev. Zach Ledbetter and Rev. Tannis Pritchett will officiate. Interment will be in the Rock Hill Congregatonal Holiness Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Tuesday June 17, 2025 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m.

Rev. Gilstrap was born June 24, 1932 to the late Young and Bertie Lee Gilstrap. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Terry Gilstrap, brothers Kenneth Gilstrap and James Gilstrap and stepsons, Randy Hunter and Jeffrey Hunter.

Rev. Gilstrap was a retired minister with the Congregational Holiness Church. During his career he pastored the following churches. 1953-1956, Rock Hill Congregational Holiness Church, 1957-1967, West Griffin Congregational Holiness Church, 1967-1969, Ballground Congregational Holiness Church, 1969-1973, Gainesville Congregational Holiness Church, 1973-1987, East Point Congregational Holiness Church. He also served on the General Board of the Congregational Holiness Church and from 1974 until 1987 he served as 1st Assistant and 2nd Assistant. From 1985-1987 he served as acting General Superintendent. Rev. Gilstrap attended New Hope Church on Price Rd.

His survivors include his wife, Juanita Allene Gilstrap of Gainesville, son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Paula Gilstrap of McDonough, Ga., daughter and son-i-law, Angela and Stan Ledbetter of Fayetteville, Ga.., step daughter and husband, Michelle and Matthew Pritchett of Gainesville, step daughter and husband, Kimberley and Ramiro Diaz of Dawsonville, step daughter and husband, Sandra and Ernesto Mendoza of Jefferson, step son Michael Murphy of Gainesville. He is also survived by grandchildren, Zach Ledbetter and his wife Charlotte, Hannah Ledbetter, Phillip Gilstrap, one great grandchild Hailey Gilstrap, 27 step grandchildren and 12 step great grandchildren.
