Ms. Cynthia “Cynt” Hendrix gained her well deserved precious wings on June 10, 2025 following a very brief illness, surrounded by her two daughters and niece. Cynthia was born on December 19, 1956 in Cornelia, Ga to the late Mr. George Mattox and Mrs. Elizabeth Heard Hendrix. Cynthia was a resident of Gainesville, Ga. as well as a daughter of the Christian faith including being a founding member and a devoted attendee of Cornerstone of Faith. Cynthia was a 1975 graduate of East Hall High School, later to enroll and complete classes at Lanier Technical College. Cynthia entered the workforce at Diego Foods, later named Mission Foods, as a dedicated and hard working employee for more than 20 years. She then entered the education field at Fair Street Elementary where she served as a paraprofessional to Kindergarten and First Grade for 25 years until her retirement. Through her employment and faith based activities, Cynthia became a mother, friend, and sister to many leaving everlasting memories. Cynthia was a vibrant soul with a generous spirit and a heart of gold. She embraced life’s simple joys—cooking and sharing meals, dressing with grace, tending to her plants, and finding peace in nature, especially watching birds at her bird feeder in the front yard. She delighted in fellowship with family and friends and enjoyed playing on her tablet. Most of all, Cynthia lived a life of love and service, faithfully encouraging and caring for others, reflecting God’s compassion in all she did. Cynthia was preceded in death by her father, George Mattox and her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Heard Hendrix. She leaves behind to cherish her memories her father, Eddie Joe Hendrix, Sr., her sister, Jacqueline “Tweet” L. Hendrix (Gainesville, GA) and her baby brother, Eddie “Brother” Joe Hendrix, Jr. (Seattle, WA). She also leaves to cherish her memories, her two loving and remarkable daughters, Dameia M. Moorehead and Dahlia A. Hendrix and a beautiful and loving granddaughter Johniyah S. Thompson. Cynthia leaves behind her nieces Nakia J. Thurmond and N’Tara J. (Lamarr) Hendrix Mann along with her nephews Michael Hendrix, Travis (Felicia) Hendrix, Austin Hendrix and Lorenzo Hendrix as well as a host of great nieces and great nephews. Finally, the family would like to thank her special brother Mr. Willie Stevens.
