Franklin “Frankie” Garfield Powers

Franklin “Frankie” Garfield Powers, age 61, passed away in Gainesville, Georgia, on June 12, 2025. He was born to the late Ernest Garfield Powers and the surviving Evelyn Gravitt Powers, on July 26, 1963. He was a member of the U.S. National Guard, and had retired from Stepan Co.

Funeral arrangements have been scheduled for Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Visitation will be the day before, Monday, June 16, 2025, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, also at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Reverend Steve Lewallen and Reverend Robby Ledford will officiate the service. There will be no interment.

Frankie was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Garfield Powers, and his wife, Paula Day Powers.

He is survived by his sons, Jonathan Ryan Posten (Leslie) of Dawsonville, Ga., and Mathew Clay Powers (Eden) of Gillsville, Ga.; and his daughter, Megan Belton (Jeremiah) of Maysville, Ga. He is remembered by two step-sons, Justin Green (Harlee) of Clarksville, Ga., and Josh Green (Amber) of Gainesville, Ga. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, and his brother, Michael Powers (Tracy) of Gainesville, Ga.
