Kelly Ann Smith of Cleveland, GA, passed away on June 12, 2025, from Huntington ’s Disease.
She was 62 years old.
Kelly was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald and Kathryn Smith, and sister, Robin
Smith. She is survived by her spouse, Jan Kay, of Sautee Nacoochee, GA, sister, Jodie Talbert
(Michael), nephews Jacob and Elijah Talbert, all of Pelham, AL, and niece, Gabrielle Talbert, of
Lake View, AL.
Kelly was born and raised in Michigan. She graduated from Huron High School and Lawrence
Technological University, where she obtained a BS Degree in Construction Engineering. Kelly
subsequently obtained a Professional Engineer License and spent the next 25 years working on
large scale transportation projects. She moved to Georgia in 1995, and her last employment
was with the City of Atlanta Department of Aviation.
Prior to the onset of Huntington’s Disease, Kelly was active in the community and enjoyed many
outdoor activities, including softball, golf and water sports. She was an avid fan of college
football and passionate about the Georgia DAWGS and Michigan Wolverines.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at the Episcopal Church
of the Resurrection, 1755 Duncan Bridge Rd., Sautee Nacoochee, GA, with Father Dean Taylor
presiding. A reception will follow the service.
