Clinton E. “Clint” Dunaway

Clinton E. “Clint” Dunaway, age 86, of Buford, GA passed away on Friday, June 13, 2025. He was preceded in death by granddaughter, Jennifer Loving; parents, Frank and Emmie Dunaway; stepmother, Bessie Dunaway; sisters, Flora Green, Viola Allen, Betty Manders; brothers, Truman Dunaway and Hayward Dunaway. Mr. Dunaway is survived by his wife of sixty-six years, Patricia “Pat” Maddox Dunaway of Buford; daughter, Toni (Robert) Moore of Dahlonega, GA; grandsons, Jason (Amanda) Loving of Hoschton, GA, Anson Loving and Caden Loving both of Buford; sisters-in-law, Sandra (Ricky) Parker of Hoschton, GA and Sherry Smith of Buford; brother-in-law, Billy Maddox of Loganville, GA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mr. Dunaway was born on April 25, 1939 in Cumming, GA. He received his education from Sunny Hill School, where he later got his GED while serving in the U. S. Army for three years. Mr. Dunaway’s work career began as an insurance salesman with South Life Insurance for ten years. He worked with Tapp Funeral Home for five years, and he worked two years at Lockheed Martin in Marietta, GA. He was City Manager for the city of Sugar Hill for three years, and had also worked for Poss and Allen Body Shop in Sugar Hill. Mr. Dunaway was in the monument business with Walter Allen for a number of years. He was a T. V. Repairman with Scarbrough in Oakwood and also had his own business. Mr. Dunaway ended his work career with Flanigan Funeral Home for nineteen years as a Funeral Assistant. He was a member of Chicopee Baptist Church in Gainesville, GA. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Clyde Self officiating. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, June 15 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and again on Monday, June 16 from 12:30 p.m. until time for the service at 2:00 p.m.
