Carol Tesseneer Tate

Carol Tesseneer Tate, age 81, of Hoschton, GA, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Roger Dale Tate, Sr.; parents, Howard and Nancy Bridges Tesseneer. Mrs. Tate is survived by her daughter, Linda (Chad) Oliver of Monroe, GA; son, Dale (Rene) Tate of Athens, GA; grandchildren, Shelby Hope, Emily Oliver, Ryan Oliver, Sarah Tate, Grace Tate; brothers, Rodney (Wendy Jo Johnson) Tesseneer, Jimmy (Jean) Tesseneer; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mrs. Tate was born November 9, 1943 in Shelby, N.C. She was a 1962 graduate of Crest High School in Shelby N.C. In 1964 she earned an Associate Degree from Gardner-Webb University and in 1966 graduated from Caron Newman University in Jefferson City, TN with her Bachelors Degree. Mrs. Tate was a 1968 graduate of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. She was a retired Children’s Minister from Central Baptist Church, Lawrenceville, GA, First Baptist Church of Lawrenceville, GA, and Southside Baptist Church of Greenville, S.C. She taught Sociology and Psychology at North Greenville Community College. She was a member of Ivy Creek Baptist Church.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home, Buford, GA, with Dr. Craig Dale officiating. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens, Buford, GA. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 13, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
