Bette Lea (Einarsen) Franklin

Obituary Date: Tuesday, May 6, 2025

FRANKLIN

Our dear mom, Bette Lea (Einarsen) Franklin, went to be home with her Lord and Savior on May 6, 2025. She was 80 years old.

Bette Lea (Einarsen) Franklin is preceded by her father Kenneth Einarsen and her mother, Esther Nyborg and dear sister, Laurie Cox.

Bette is survived by her niece, Debbie (Jeff) Greer and her four children, Dawn (Tim) Jennings, Kris (Bill) Higgins, Heidi Hoffman, Rob Franklin: including 8 grandchildren that brought her great joy: Cameron Jennings, Kari Higgins, Kirsten Jennings, Lauren Higgins, Mackenzie Jennings, AnnaLea Higgins, Kenny Hoffman, and Chandler Hoffman, one great-grand child, Isaac Olaires, and two great nieces, Kim Barker and Jen Neyer.

Bette was born in Brooklyn, New York to Kenneth and Esther Einarsen on December 19, 1944. She moved to Tenefly, New Jersey where she grew up and was an active part of the Northern Valley Evangelical Free Church along with her mom, dad and sister, Laurie.

Bette loved being a stay at home and was a pastor’s wife in up-state New York for many decades before moving to Atlanta, Georgia in 1990. In the early 2000's she joined and worked for a ministry called Youth for Christ which took her to downtown Atlanta sharing the gospel and teaching life skills to teens. After this work, she was led to Nothing But the Truth and served there for many years teaching God's word to families. Her final ministry was in Helen, Georgia where she started Hope for Helen, a ministry reaching those experiencing hardship.

Our dear mom was the best mom in the world. She was loving and kind, patient, forgiving and full of grace. She had a smile that lit up any room. She made every occasion so special and made everyone she met feel loved and accepted.

She loved each of her four children with unwavering, unconditional love.

We often say it was a fierce love. Her hugs reflected that. Her heart for all of us, including her grandchildren, was for us to know God and to know how much He is crazy in love with us. She was so easy to talk to and was a wonderful listener especially over a "nosh" and coffee. Mom walked with God faithfully. She was a warrior in her faith and never gave up believing God to meet her every need emotionally, physically and spiritually.

Jesus was her prize and people were her passion. Mom had a heart for missions that started as a young girl. She wanted everyone to know that they were SEEN and KNOWN and LOVED by their Creator.

Mom loved life! She loved to laugh and she was so good at soaking up the moment. Whether it was making it to a grandchild's ballgame wrapped up in blankets or attending a ballet recital, enjoying a pizza on Sunday night, or going on a hike, she just wanted to be a part of all her grandkids events. Mom was so proud of her Norwegian heritage and we loved making krumkake and other Norwegian desserts all through the years. Her Norwegian flags, plates, mugs, sweaters and the Norwegian prayer were always a part of our home and have become treasures to us.

There just aren't enough words to express all of our love and admiration for our mom. We have so many wonderful memories that give us joy and comfort. She is walking and running without pain and is in complete and utter peace and joy with her Savior. We will miss her so much and cannot wait until we are all reunited with her for all of eternity.

Her CELEBRATION OF LIFE SERVICE will be held on Saturday, June 28, at 11:30am at Helen First Baptist Church, 53 Edelweiss Strasse, Helen, Ga. 30545

A repast lunch will follow at the same location immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to mom’s favorite ministry where she worked for many years.
