Ila Mae Grizzle, 91 of Gainesville passed away peacefully at home and entered her heavenly home on June 1, 2025.
The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday June 4, 2025 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral Services have been scheduled for Thursday June 5, 2025 at 2:00pm at the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Pastors Mike Grizzle, Scott Grizzle, Joey Grizzle, and Mark Vandiver will be officiating the services. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Ila was born January 29, 1934, in Cherokee county to the late Albert and Tina Smith. She was a member of the Oakwood Church of God. She was a wonderful cook and was famous for her fried chicken, potato salad, green beans, dressing, biscuits, gravy (including the chocolate kind), fried apple pies, and banana pudding. She expressed her love for her family through her delicious cooking and her home is a testament to the love and memories shared with photos adorning every space.
In addition to her parents, Ila was preceded by her son Ronnie Grizzle, brothers and sisters Mary Tanner, Sally White, Joe Smith, Alton Smith, Ett (Evelyn) Grizzle, Gene Smith, Lee Smith, Bob Smith, Cecil Smith.
Ila is survived by her husband of 74 years, Junior Grizzle, children; Mike (Angela) Grizzle, Debbie (Steve) Lott, Lisa (Ricky) Marlow, Angie (Mark) Vandiver, daughter-in-law Tammy Grizzle, 10 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren, 7 Great Great Grandchildren, Sisters-in-law Wilma Smith, Geraldine Dunmire, and Linda (Donald) Smith.
