Larry Byers

Mr. Larry Byers age 79 of Dahlonega passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 4, 2025. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend Larry was known for his warm heart, unwavering faith, and love for family, friends, and the outdoors.

A faithful member of St. Paul Methodist Church, Larry’s life was rooted in faith and service. He enjoyed fellowship through the local bowling league and found joy and peace in hunting—one of his favorite pastimes. A true Georgia native, he was a passionate supporter of the UGA Bulldogs.

Larry will be remembered for his kindness, steady presence, and the love he showed to those around him. His legacy lives on in the memories shared by all who knew and loved him. 

Larry is survived by his devoted wife, Lois Byers of Dahlonega; his son, Robbie McKinney (Angela Bearden), also of Dahlonega; and his cherished grandson, Hayden McKinney. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Mary Lou Hulsey Byers.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 14th, at St. Paul Methodist Church. The Rev. David Bost will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, June 13, 2025, at the funeral home.
