Donna Lee Hudson

Obituary Date: Sunday, May 25, 2025

Donna Lee Hudson, age 65, of Oakwood, Georgia, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2025, after a long and courageous journey.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Memorial Park South Chapel with interment following at Sunrise Cemetery in Maysville, GA. Pastor Roger Hardy will officiate. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, May 30, 2025 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.

Donna was born April 13th, 1960, in Anderson South Carolina to Ophelia (Ed) Hughes and Hubert Bair.

Growing up, Donna spent much of her time outdoors and cherished the moments she shared with her nieces. She had a deep love for music and enjoyed going to concerts and spending time with friends. One of her favorite weekend traditions was visiting the farmers market with her husband, Mike. She especially loved celebrating Halloween with family and friends—always bringing energy, laughter, and fun to every gathering. Donna was truly the life of the party.

Donna married Michael Hudson on October 17th, 1988. The two were each other's lifelong companions and friends. They were blessed with one son: Jeremy Montney.

Donna devoted over 30 years of her life working for Wayne Farms, where she was known for her strong work ethic and kind spirit. Outside of work, Donna’s heart belonged to her family—especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

She is survived by her husband Mike, and her loving son, Jeremy Montney. Donna was a proud and doting grandmother to Taylor Montney, Madie (Dylan) Holland and Carlee Montney. She was also blessed with six great-grandchildren: Mia, Ryder, Blaire, Raelynn, Brighton, and Bridger.

Donna is also survived by her brother, Lanny Bair (Patsy), and many other family members and friends who will deeply miss her warmth, laughter, and unwavering love.

Donna had many friends, but she shared a particularly special bond with Lawana Emmett and Libby Wingo. The three of them spent countless hours on the phone, laughing and sharing stories about life’s greatest adventures.

Donna’s legacy is one of deep family devotion, quiet strength, and unconditional love. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her family and friends, having fun, always putting their happiness and well-being above all else. She will be greatly missed.
