Leila Daniel, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. She was a woman of deep faith, strong family values, and unwavering kindness.
Born to the late Mozelle Holmes and Paul Neese, she was preceded in death by her siblings Odell, Clarence, A.J. Neese, Carol Beck, Polly Jones, and Marie Chambers.
She is survived by her devoted children, including Terry Turpin and Tina of Maysville, GA; Cary Turpin and Roxie of Commerce, GA; and Cheryl Watkins of Buford, GA. She was a proud grandmother to nine grandchildren and a great-grandmother to fourteen great-grandchildren. She was also predeceased by one great-grandchild.
A woman of the Baptist faith, she carried her beliefs with grace and lived a life that reflected her values. Before retirement, she worked as a professional assistant at Pro Shocks in Lawrenceville, GA. Prior to that, she was employed as a sales associate at Jay’s and Cato’s Clothing Stores in Commerce, GA, where she was known for her dedication and warm spirit.
She will be remembered for her gentle heart, her love of family, and her strong work ethic. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Little Ward Funeral Home in Commerce, Georgia.
Funeral services will take place on Friday, May 30, 2025, with a viewing at 1:00 PM and the funeral services beginning at 2:00 PM at Diamond Hill Baptist Church.
