Myra Hall Dodd Caton

Obituary Date: Saturday, May 24, 2025

Myra Hall Dodd Caton, a beloved member of her community and a steadfast supporter of her faith, departed this world on May 24, 2025, at Athens Piedmont Hospital. Born on October 18, 1937, in Arab, Alabama, she lived a life marked by love, dedication, and a profound appreciation for the joys of family and music.

Myra’s journey through life was a testament to her strong character and unwavering faith. As a retired payroll clerk from Air Tool, she dedicated countless hours to her work while still finding time to nurture her close-knit family and serve her church community. Her heart belonged to Plainview Baptist Church in Pensacola, Florida, where she found solace and inspiration in the embrace of her fellow congregants. A passionate believer, Myra loved the Lord and found great joy in Southern Gospel Music, which filled her home and heart with a spirit of worship.

As a proud mother, Myra poured herself into her children, Teresa (Charles) Henry, and Ricky Hall, instilling in them the values of kindness, faith, and hard work. Her legacy extended to her nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, all of whom were her pride and joy. Each moment spent with them was cherished, as she took great pleasure in watching them grow and thrive, always eager to impart her wisdom and love.

Myra now joins her beloved husband, Elbert Caton, and her son, Randy Hall, in eternal rest. She was also preceded by her dear sister, Doris Dodd Clay, and her loving parents, Norman "Guy" Dodd and Ofa "Lena" Hendrick Dodd, who were undoubtedly waiting with open arms to greet her. She was also preceded by the father of her children Tommy Hall.

Her strong personality and generous heart touched the lives of all who knew her. Myra Hall Dodd Caton's spirit continues to shine brightly through the love and memories that she leaves behind, reminding us all of the importance of faith, family, and the music that unites us.
