Janet Anita Moore

Janet Anita Moore, 77, of Dawsonville passed away Thursday, May 22, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.

Born January 1, 1947, Janet previously resided in Alpharetta and had been in Dawson County for almost 40 years.  A member of Lanier Hills Church in Gainesville, Janet served as a firefighter in Fulton County for many years and as a foster parent who helped love over 160 children.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Moore and daughter, Kimberly Jaye Moore.

Surviving are her daughters, Anita Moore-Willard (Brian Willard) of Flowery Branch, Marti Fisher of Cleveland; son, Jay Moore of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Stephanie Mathis, Katherine Kirby, Meschelle Moore, Rebecca Fisher, Stephanie Strum; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce Wilson of Carnesville; other relatives.

A graveside service will be held Friday, May 30, 2025 at 4 p.m. at Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.  Rev. Brian Willard will officiate.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 2 p.m. until 3:30.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to help offset final expenses.
