Mrs. Margaret Marie Trammell, age 91, of Auraria passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025.
Margaret was born in Lumpkin County on March 1, 1934, to the late Vernon Sullens and Lula Peck Sullens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Joe Sullens, Fred Sullens, and Ray Sullens; Also preceded in death by her sisters Dorothy Lingerfelt, JoAnn Hughes, and Betty Mason.
Margaret had retired from Burlington Industries. After retirement, she found joy in working at the Auraria Trading Post. A Proverbs 31 lady, she lived out her faith that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Known affectionately as “Nanny T” by her grandchildren, Margaret will be remembered for her warm heart, her enduring love for her family, and her famous Apple Pies and jelly, which brought joy to many.
Survivors include her Husband of 73 years Claude Trammell. Children; Lois and Matt Zangara of Auraria, Allen and Vickie Trammell of Auraria, Judy and Jesse Greenwood of Oxford, Mississippi, and Terry and Laura Jean Trammell of Auraria , Rissa and Phillip Ray of Auraria; Siblings and their spouses, Ode Sullens, Geraldine McKinney, Veronia Castleberry of Dawsonville, Bobby and Sandy Sullens of Brooksville, Florida, Billy and Nancy Sullens of Gainesville, Stanley and Ogie Sullens of Macon, and Patty and Kenneth Mulkey of Dawsonville. Grandchildren and their spouses; Mark and Christie Hallman, Joy and Mitch Patton, Carrie and Scott Hand. Casey and April Trammell, Rodney and Stacie Trammell, Josh Trammell, Corey and Julie Anne Ray, Riley and Julie Ray, Ben and Casey Greenwood, Amy and Ian Anderson. Greatgrandchildren; Georgia Patton, Maddox Patton, Taylor Patton, Grant Hallman, Kenadee Hallman, Cole Grizzle, Cade Grizzle, Kaylee Trammell, Emily Trammell, Sawyer Trammell, Sam Greenwood, Luke Anderson, Tinsley Greenwood, Hayden Greenwood, Colby Woody, Blake Trammell, Stephanie Trammell. Isaiah Ray, Elizabeth Ray, Ethan Ray, Caleb Ray, Kiley Ray, Jacob Ray, and 4 great-great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and very special friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday May 24, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. The Rev. Lyman Caldwell and the Rev. Cory Ray will officiate. Interment will follow in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until the service hour on Saturday at the funeral home.
