Calvin Perry Martin, age 83, of Clermont, Georgia, met his Lord and Savior face to face on May 17, 2025, at home, surrounded by his loving wife and daughters.
Born on August 7, 1941, Calvin was the son of G.C. and Hattie Grace Martin. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Johnny Martin, his sisters Barbara McDonald and Joan Parker.
A hardworking and driven man, Calvin was the owner and operator of Martin Brothers Grading before later founding Dixie Land Tractor and Equipment in Oakwood, Georgia. After retiring from the heavy equipment industry, he enjoyed spending his time golfing and bowling.
A man of faith, Calvin was a member of Concord Baptist Church in Clermont, Georgia. He will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his strong work ethic, and his faithful presence.
Calvin is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Linda Compton Martin; his daughters and sons-in-law: Tommy and Debbie Wiley, Rick and Donna Conner, and Scott and Sheryl Carson and his sister Evelyn Martin. Known affectionately as “Papa,” Calvin leaves behind a legacy of love and wisdom in his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will cherish his memory always.

The family will receive friends during visitation on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Park North on Riverside Chapel. A funeral service honoring Calvin’s life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Memorial Park Riverside Chapel with interment to follow at Concord Baptist Church Cemetery, Clermont.
Calvin’s life was marked by faith, family, and friends, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
