Sandra Gay Dockery

Mrs. Sandra Gay Dockery age 71 of Dockery Creek Rd. Young Harris passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at her home on Wednesday May 14, 2025 following an extended illness. Mrs. Dockery was born on March 23, 1954 in Clarksville, GA., the daughter of the late Thurston Jones and the late Ella Mae Norris Jones. Sandra was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by a son, Jonathon Smith, sister, Patty Jean Jones and a brother, Hubert Jones. Mrs. Dockery was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving Mrs. Dockery are her loving husband and best friend Jerry Dockery of Young Harris, four children, Jason and Leslie Martin of Commerce, GA., Melissa and Aubrey Kerby of Gainesville, Reeda and Mike Worley of Clarksville, GA., Mandy and Franklin Bridges of Gainesville, three sisters and one brother in law, Gail Ivester of Hollywood, GA., Frances and Max Lovingood of Hiawassee, Barbara Garrett of Clarkesville, one brother and sister in law, Winston and Judy Jones of Demorest, GA., ten grandchildren, Destiny Martin, Amber Garbutt, Joshua Kerby, Bridgette Collier, Vanessa Rodriguez, Anna Rodriguez, Matthew Worley, Carly Holden, Kinley Holden and Tiffany Anderson, seven great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday June 8, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the Cornelia Community House in Cornelia, GA. Interment will follow later in the Jones Family Cemetery. Flowers are accepted or if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to Appalachian Hospice in Mrs. Dockery’s memory. The family will meet with friends following the services.
