John Robert Matthews

John Robert Matthews, a beloved member of his family and community, passed away on May 14, 2025, in Gainesville, Georgia, at the age of 89. He was born on July 29, 1935, in Braselton, Georgia, and lived a life marked by love, devotion, and service.

In his personal life, John was the proud father of Lisa Smith (Danny), who survives him. He found joy in his seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, each of whom added a unique and cherished chapter to his life.

John was preceded in death by his loving parents, Preston and Delphia Matthews, and his spouse, Diane Stewart Matthews. He also mourned the loss of his sons, Joey Matthews, David Matthews, and James Matthews, who left a profound impact during their lifetimes.
