With heart felt sorrow, we announce the passing of an amazing man, David Lamar Autry, age 74 of Jefferson, Georgia. David passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. He suffered many years from illness before being welcomed home to the arms of Jesus.
David leaves behind the love of his life, Wife, Debra Autry and cherished proudly their fifty-three years of marriage. He is also survived by his sons, Kevin Autry (Kristi) of Dawsonville, Rodney Autry (Kristen) of Jefferson and Todd Autry (Brittany) of Jefferson. He also leaves behind his amazing grandchildren, Harley, Dustin, Cam, Kailey, John, James, and Luke, plus two great grandsons, Brayden and Colt.
Also survived by sisters, Linda Autry and Martha Autry (Tim) all of Jefferson. Sister-in-law, Cindy Jarrell (John) and Sheila Autry all of Jefferson. Brothers-in-law, Mike Duren(June) of Gainesville and David Duren (Resakio) of Rydal.
David, a sweet, and simple man, he loved to talk and never met a stranger. His favorite past times were outdoors with the grandsons, riding his side by side, looking for deer and talking with family and friends. Inviting friends to fish his lake also brought him joy. David worked as a maintenance mechanic at Boyd-Midway, Ricket & Colemon, Heraeus, and LPS Labs.
David is preceded in death by his precious parents, John and Ruby Autry of Norcross and Jefferson and his best friend and brother, Gene Autry.
David adored every day spent with his loved ones, and his unwavering devotion to them will forever be remembered.
Visitation with family will be 10:00 – 1:00 P.M. Friday, May 16, 2025 at Evans Funeral Home with the service following in the Chapel at 1:00 P.M.. David will be laid to rest in Evans Memory Gardens
