Josephine Adderholdt Cole Barrett

Josephine Adderholdt Cole Barrett, 84, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed peacefully from this life into the arms of her Savior on Friday, May 9, 2025.

She was born on April 25, 1941 in Gainesville and lived here most of her life.

For many years, she worked for Quinn’s Florist, the Hall County Training Center and Parkway Enterprises taking care of children and adults with special needs.

         She enjoyed spending time with family and loved telling silly and sometimes scary stories to all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family beach trips were always exciting when JoDee was around.

         She is survived by her daughters, Cathy Calvert, Laurie (Danny) Samples, Christie (Trent) Westmoreland, and Jennifer (Ron)Pirkle; and son,  Tim (Glen) Barrett; her grandchildren, Drew Benefield, Katy (Chance) Bowen, Jodi Samples, Hunter Samples, Paige (Coty)Robertson, Hayden Reynolds, Josie Boyd, and her great grandchildren, Lola Westmoreland,Tate Robertson, and Noah Benefield. She is also survived by her siblings, Jimmy Adderholdt, Susan (Dennis) Wright, and Beth (Mike) Compton, her sister in law, Norma Cole Perry, and many nieces and nephews.

         She is preceded in death by her parents, JD and Josephine Adderholdt, the father of her girls, Charles Cole, and her second husband, David Barrett.

JoDee loved animals.
