Peggy Jeannette "Beckler" Tyner

Obituary Date: Monday, May 5, 2025

Peggy Jeanette (Beckler) Tyner, 85, was surrounded by her loving family as she rejoined her Father in Heaven on May 5, 2025. She was born on March 27, 1940, to the late William Arthur Beckler and Bonnie (Messer) Beckler in York County, South Carolina.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2025, at Memorial Park Funeral Home in Gainesville, GA.

Mrs. Tyner is preceded in death by both of her parents; brothers Sonny Beckler, Charles Beckler, and Robert Beckler; and her sisters, Doris Robinson and Katie Cartee.

Mrs. Tyner was a fun-loving woman who held a special place in the hearts of her family. In her younger years, she was an avid swimmer who loved to be in or near the pool any chance she got. Her living room was often filled with the music of Elvis Presley coming from one of her many record players. Even as “granny,” you would usually find her swimming or dancing. If not, then she was probably in the kitchen making a homemade Rice Krispy treat for her grandchildren. She loved to spend time with her family and booked several trips to the mountains and Dollywood for them. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas, which she prepared for months in advance as she decorated the Christmas tree and shopped for presents to go under it. As she got older, she enjoyed crocheting and giving out blankets, hats, and scarfs to anyone and everyone in her life. Even as she aged, she continued to love those around her well.

She is survived by her husband of 61 loving years, Richard Melvin Tyner Sr. of Gillsville, GA; daughters, Jeanette Miles of Loganville, GA, Bonnie Tyner of Gillsville, GA, and Daniele Dale of Demorest, GA; sons, Richard (Robin) Tyner Jr. of Gillsville, GA, and Ira (Mandy) Tyner of Gainesville, GA; and brothers Joey (Judy) Beckler and Marcus Hicklin. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lily (Juan) Slaughter, Courtney Tyner, Amber (Eli) Stuart, Jacob Tyner, Mikaela Tyner, and Deanna Dale, as well as her great grandchildren, Lucy and Peter Stuart. She will be fondly remembered by numerous family members and friends.
