Carrie Virginia Ray

Carrie Virginia Ray of Gainesville,  passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.  Virginia was born in Gainesville, Georgia to the late Jack Cochran and Nora Lee Anderson Cochran.  She lived her entire life in Gainesville.

Virginia (Gin) is preceded in death by her husband, James Ray and survived by her brothers and sisters, Leroy (Martha) Cochran of Cleveland, Sam (Wilma) Cochran of Cleveland, Sondra (Gerard) Schroeder, Evans, Joyce (Eddie) Jenkins of Cleveland, and Doris (Paul) Mundy of Clermont.  She is also survived by loving in-laws: Bobby Ray (Louise), Larry Ray (Barbara), Jerry Ray (Geneva) all of Gainesville; Girlie Turner of Cleveland, Bernice Berry of Gainesville, Myrtice Ellis (James) of Gainesville and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt expression of gratitude and thanks to the wonderful staff at Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

The family invites you to celebrate Virginia’s life at a graveside service, Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at Memorial Park Cemetery.  Family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center in her memory.  https://www.nghs.com/foundation/hospice
