Mildred Evelyn Massey

Mildred Evelyn Massey, age 82 of Gainesville, GA passed away on Monday, May 5, 2025 at Gateway Health & Rehabilitation after an extended illness.

Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, May 8th at 2:00 p.m. at New Holland Cemetery.  Reverend Levi Nix will officiate.  The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 7th from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home, Main Location.

Ms. Massey was born on April 16, 1943 in Gainesville, GA to the late Claude Black & Bonseal Croy Black.  She lived most of her life in the New Holland area.  She worked at Chicopee and Leece-Neville.  She was the last charter member remaining at Temple Missionary Baptist Church where she had attended all of her life.

Ms. Massey is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Benson Massey Sr. her parents, sister Joan Black and brother James “Skip” Black, family friends Mark Guthrie, Rev James Ransom.  Ms. Massey is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Becky and Steve Rohr of Clermont, extended family, Rev. Johnny and Judy Knight and family, Elaine Guthrie and family, Terry and Bobbie Ransom and family, Rev. Phillip and Karen Ransom and family, Rev. Steve and Teresa Merck and family in addition to several cousins.

The family would like to thank Gateway Health & Rehabilitation and their entire staff for the loving, tender, professional care Ms. Massey received during her long stay with them.  The family is forever grateful for their attention to the details and level of care Ms. Massey received.
