Dixie Lee Prevost, age 85, of Hoschton, GA (formerly Cedarburg, WI) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.
She was born on Sunday, March 17, 1940 to Ralph and Reuberta (née Walker) Kramer in Hampton, Iowa.
After graduating Sheffield High School, she attended Hamilton Business College in Mason City, Iowa. While working at Oliver Corporation in Charles City, Iowa she met Michael T. Prevost and the two were married on September 17, 1961. They eventually moved with their two young daughters to Wisconsin, where she resided until 2012.
Dixie worked as an administrative assistant and retired from Human Resources from Plunkett Raysich Architects. Dixie was always on the go and loved to travel, exploring over 15 countries in her lifetime. She always has a smile on her face and loved to laugh. Dixie enjoyed sewing, shopping, spending time with friends, ballroom dancing, playing cards, lunches with her red hat society, and snuggling with her numerous cats she had throughout her life.
Dixie relocated to Hoschton, Georgia in 2012 to escape the Wisconsin winters and be closer to family. During this time, she met Paul Suggs, who brought additional joy and companionship into her life. Together they traveled, shared laughter, and created new memories.
Dixie is survived by her daughters, Michele (Gregg) Janasik of Cedarburg, Wisconsin and Roxanne (Greg) Hanson of Hoschton, Georgia. She is also survived by grandchildren Brandon Janasik, Ryan Janasik (Sydney), Taylor Janasik, and Michael Hanson. She was preceded in death by her husband (Mike) and parents.
Upon Dixie’s wishes, she was cremated and there will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Humane Society.
