Johnny Gillespie

Mr. Johnny Gillespie, age 88, of Harmony Drive, Gainesville, GA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 1, 2025, in his home surrounded by his family. Mr. Gillespie was born on July 9, 1936, in Hall County, the son of the late Sylvester Gillespie and Estelle Roberts Gillespie. He worked for Gainesville Mill and Peachtree Windows and Doors where he retired. Johnny enjoyed camping, deer hunting, watching any type of sport, riding his golf cart and spending time with his family.

Surviving Mr. Gillespie is his wife of 48 years, Barbara Lovell Gillespie of Gainesville; children, Karen and Bob Wallace of Dawsonville, Darren Gillespie and Dan McDonald of Atlanta, Tiffany and Kyle Sims of Gainesville, Dusty and Shenna Gillespie of Gainesville; grandchildren, Bryan Eddy, Lyndsey and Brian Riddle, Morgan and Tim Davis, Hunter Gillespie, Tinsley Sims; 9 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Junior and Betty Gillespie of Murrayville, Jessie and Rita Gillespie of Gainesville,  and Dan and Cathy Gillespie of Daytona Beach, FL; brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law,  Hoyt and Peggy Lovell of Gainesville, Ken Lovell of Gainesville, and Mike and Anita Lovell of Gainesville; and several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, May 10, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Little & Davenport Funeral Home in Gainesville, GA.
