John “Johnny” Daniel Emmett, age 81, of Grayson, GA passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. He was preceded in death by parents, George Oliver Emmett and Jane Brown Emmett. Mr. Emmett is survived by sisters, Sharon Emmett of Lake Okeechobee, FL and Vicki Britt of McDonough, GA; brother, George (Cathy) Emmett of Lavonia, GA; uncles, Rev. Billy (Gail) Emmett of Gainesville, GA and Bradley Emmett of Las Vegas, NV; and nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Emmett was born on September 13, 1943 in Gainesville, GA and received his education in the Gwinnett County Public School system. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Lawrenceville, GA, and a former member of Tabernacle Church in Cartersville, GA. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, May 5, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Lawrenceville with Rev. Billy Emmett officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday at the cemetery from 12:30 until time for the service at 1:00 p.m.
