Diane Railey Curington

Diane Railey Curington, 82 of Gainesville passed away at her residence on Thursday evening, April 24, 2025.  Trusting Jesus with her soul, she died peacefully as she was ushered into heaven.

Born in Jacksonville, FL, Diane attended Brenau University and the University of Georgia.  She taught Elementary English at Candler Street Elementary, Enota Elementary, and was one of two teachers when Lakeview Academy was founded.  Among Diane's hobbies was duplicate bridge, traveling and working in her flower gardens.

Diane is survived by her husband Jim Curington, along with two children, Bill Curington of Athens, GA and Ashley Curington of Suwanee, GA.  She has 4 grandchildren: James, Brice and Stephanie Curington of Athens and Mason Anthony of Suwanee.  Next of kin includes Fran Edwards of Blairsville, GA.

There will be a small private ceremony at Diane's home on May 16,2025, and a public celebration service of her life will be on Friday May 30, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Gainesville.
