Callie Michayla Chastain, age 13, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away on April 14, 2025. She was born on August 4, 2011, to Michael and Stephanie Anderson Chastain.
Callie was a bright light in the lives of everyone who knew her. Incredibly intelligent, witty, and full of humor, she continuously kept her family and friends entertained and laughing. Her joyful spirit and quick wit were gifts to her family and friends.
She adored arts, music, and crafting. Callie loved nature and the outdoors, especially taking long walks, hiking to creeks, riding her bike, and jumping on the trampoline. She loved spending time around water and was an excellent swimmer. She enjoyed watching movies and television series, particularly comedies, Disney, and Harry Potter.
Callie loved to cook Asian and Italian foods. She was always up for an adventure, whether zip-lining, visiting theme parks, riding thrill rides, or taking rides in Dad’s “race cars.”
She excelled academically as a straight-A student and received many educational awards and accolades during her school years. Callie was a very talented writer and a devoted learner. She also excelled in Taekwondo, recently earning her third-degree deputy black belt. Callie’s heart was full of compassion. She possessed the spiritual gifts of generosity and encouragement, especially in relation to those she felt were socially disadvantaged.
She was a member of Dahlonega Baptist Church and was baptized there in April of 2023, a cherished moment in her life.
Missing her most will be her loving parents, Michael and Stephanie Chastain; her brothers, Caleb Chastain (and his fiancé Vanessa Suarez), Braylen Chastain (and his wife Lexi), and Ryder King; her sisters, Caroline Chastain, and Kate Chastain; her grandparents, Lynda and Don Kinder and Ralph and Shirley Chastain; her aunt, Ashley Stephenson; and her cousins, Kirklan and Evie Anderson.
She is preceded in death by her great-grandparents, David and Lou Scarboro, Glad and Evelyn Anderson, Claude and Eunice Woody, and her uncle, Joseph Anderson.
Callie was deeply loved by her family, friends, and church community. Her life was full of light, joy, and purpose. She will be dearly missed by those she leaves behind, but she is now at perfect peace in her Heavenly home. Those who loved her take immense comfort, knowing they will see her again.
