Leo Joseph Walsh Jr. beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother was born on August 9, 1936 in Pittsburgh, PA and passed away on April 15, 2025 at the age of 88.
Known for his kindness, compassion, wit, and generous spirit, he truly loved his family and friends. Above all, he deeply loved his children, grandchildren and the love of his life, his wife, Judy who he was married to for 62 years; they were his pride, his purpose, and the center of his world.
In his early years, he worked on a paper route, was a life guard, played college baseball at Clarion, enjoyed swimming and enjoyed owning various cars through out his lifetime. Leo had a life long passion for golfing, where he would be found most weekends playing at Northwood Country Club, where he was a member for over 40+ years. He played golf well into his 80's with his senior golf group/friends. Leo had a remarkable work ethic, which he carried throughout his entire working career - a majority of these years were at GTE Sylvania as Distribution Manager.
Most of all, Leo enjoyed spending time with his wife, Judy. He enjoyed and looked forward to his weekly phone calls keeping in touch with his family and friends. He loved attending his 5 granddaughters plays, musicals, dance recitals and sporting events and watching them grow into the beautiful young ladies that they are today. And we can not forget the many family dogs he loved through his life.
Leo was a man of profound faith deeply rooted in the Catholic Church, of which he was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He lived his life with kindness, humility, and love for God. Leo was preceded in death by his parents: Leo Joseph Walsh Sr. and Lillian Viola Walsh; two of his sisters: Mary Lee Carruthers and Patricia Schmidt. He is survived by his adoring wife, Judith (Judy) Walsh; their beloved children: Leah Perry (Grant), Amy Wages (Brad) and Leo Walsh III (Tricia); his 5 cherished granddaughters: Emma Walsh, Savannah Perry, Riley Ann Gregory, Marisa Perry and Maggie Walsh; and his loving sister Johanna Kearns (Jerry).
