Susan K. Scott

Susan K. Scott, 82, passed away peacefully on April 3rd, 2025 with family by her side.  Susan was born on November 11th, 1942 in Elmhurst, Illinois. She was a long-time resident of East Northport, NY and Rincon, Ga. She was a longstanding member of Rincon United Methodist Church. In her last year, Susan lived in Flowery Branch, Ga near her daughter, Nancy Gerlach, and attended Set Free Church Flowery Branch.

Susan was a remarkable woman known for her unwavering love, kindness, and strength. She dedicated her life to her family, nurturing and supporting her children and grandchildren & great grandchildren with an-open heart. Her warmth and radiant smile will be cherished and remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Susan got the most out of life.  She loved to travel and found great joy in her family and close friends and welcomed any social occasion to be together. Whether it was through her delicious cooking and sharing of family recipes or spending time with loved ones, she found a way to connect with all in her path and enriched our lives with her talents and spirit, as a result.

Professionally, Susan began her career by starting her own company, Winn Printing. Later in life she found a passion for real estate and served the greater Savannah area as a realtor for many years.

Susan is survived by her children, Scott (Nancy) Sells and Nancy (Chris) Gerlach; her grandchildren, Ashley (John) Davis, Adam and Aaron Gerlach; Jonathan and David Sells, and her great-grandchildren, Emme and Finn Davis. She is preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Lila Gibson, her sister Janet Dahl and her late husband of 30 years, James Walter Scott.

A celebration of Susan’s life will be held on Saturday, April 12th at Flanigan Funeral Home, located at 4400 South Lee Street Buford, Ga 30518.   Viewing is from 1-3pm, funeral service starts at 3pm.  The service will be officiated by Pastors Rod Entrekin, Gerald Osorto and Kenny Rice.  Worship and praise led by her Son-in-Law, Chris Gerlach, accompanied by Lianna Knutson, David Nash, and grandson Adam Gerlach. Family and friends are invited to join us in honoring her memory and sharing stories of her incredible life.

Susan had a passion for missions & church planting. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a Set Free Church – Mozambique in Susan's memory. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in our hearts.
