Julie K. Honea

Julie K. Honea, 65, of Dawsonville passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2025.

Born May 27, 1959 to the late Lonnie and Pearlie Bruce, she was a lifelong resident of Dawson County.  A homemaker at her death, Julie was formerly employed for many years at Sweet Orr, worked for the Dawson County Probate Judge, was a church administrator at Crossbridge Community Church, and most recently worked at Food Lion.  She enjoyed cooking, was very devoted to her family, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.  A graduate of Dawson County High School, she was an active member of Crossbridge Community Church.  Also preceding her in death were at son, Kyle Honea; sisters, Nettie Millwood, Bobbie Anderson, Eunice Bruce, Jane Barrett; and brothers, R. T. Bruce, Barney Bruce, Ray Bruce and Ralph Bruce.

Surviving are her husband of 39 years, Tim Honea, Dawsonville; daughter and son in law, Alison and Logan Hammond, Dahlonega; daughter in law, Hope Honea, Dawsonville; special niece, Hayley Hicks, Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Knox Honea, Willa Marie Honea, Colter Honea; sisters and brothers in law, Kathryn and Ronald Hubbard, Cumming, Janice and john Daniel, Dawsonville, Judy Bruce, Dawsonville, Carolyn Hicks, Dawsonville; sisters in law, Carolyn Bruce, Roxanne Bruce, Edith Bruce, all of Dawsonville; brother in law, Ray Laseter, Canton; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 13, 2025 at 2 o’clock at Crossbridge Community Church.  Pastor Tim Bennett will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 3 until 8 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Crossbridge Community Church, 680 Highway 53 Ease, Dawsonville, GA 30534 or to the funeral home to assist with final expenses.
