Annie "Faye" Gilreath

Annie "Faye" Gilreath, age 86, of Dahlonega, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 5, 2025-on her birthday-following an extended illness. It brings comfort to her family to know that she waited to pass on the day she came into this world, a gentle and meaningful closing to a life well lived.

Born on April 5, 1939, Faye was the daughter of the late Ronnie C. and Blanche Brawley Vandiver. A proud graduate of East Fannin High School, Class of 1956, Faye spent her early years after graduating in Marietta, Georgia, before making her home in Suches, Georgia, in the 1960s. There, she and her beloved husband Eugene raised their family and built a life together, spending over 50 cherished years in the community. After Eugene’s passing, Faye moved to Dahlonega in 2014 to be closer to family.

Faye was a woman of faith and a longtime member of Friendship Baptist Church in Fannin County. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends touched many lives.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Gilreath, and her brother, Ervin Vandiver.

Faye is survived by her loving daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Danny Jarrard, and Glenda and Larry Carlson; brother and sister-in-law Arnold and Lynn Vandiver of Goose Creek, SC and sister-in-law Leila Vandiver; nieces Elaine, Cathy, and Jenny.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your favorite charity in Faye’s memory.

Her legacy of love, strength, and grace will forever be remembered by all who knew her.

Faye will be laid to rest in a private graveside service in Blairsville, Georgia, at Union Memory Gardens.
